Southwest Harbor Congregational Church

We are a fellowship of evangelical churches deeply committed to renewing our faith in the gospel of Christ and to reforming our ministry practices to conform fully to the Scriptures. We have become deeply concerned about some movements within traditional evangelicalism that seem to be diminishing the church’s life and leading us away from our historic beliefs and practices. On the one hand, we are troubled by the idolatry of personal con- sumerism and the politicization of faith; on the other hand, we are distressed by the unchallenged acceptance of theological and moral relativism. These movements have led to the easy abandonment of both biblical truth and the transformed living mandated by our historic faith. We not only hear of these influences, we see their effects. We have committed ourselves to invigorating churches with new hope and compelling joy based on the promises received by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

What began as a friendship between four pastors from across denominational traditions has burgeoned into a biennial conference for thousands of pastors and church leaders who, for all their differences, are committed to standing together for the main thing—the gospel of Jesus Christ.

9Marks believes the local church is the focal point of God’s plan for displaying his glory to the nations, and that the Bible is sufficient for the life of the church. As an organization, therefore, we are church-focused, scripture-focused, and pastor-focused. We value a multiplicity of voices and styles as well as like-minded partnerships. We hope to continue growing in our own knowledge of God’s Word and its application to the local congregation. And we intend to spread our content through existing venues, platforms, and institutions, not to create new ones.

     The nine marks are (1) expositional preaching, (2) biblical theology, (3) a biblical understanding of the good news, (4) a biblical understanding of conversion, (5) a biblical understanding of evangelism, (6) biblical church membership, (7) biblical church discipline, (8) biblical discipleship and growth, and (9) biblical church leadership. These are not the only things which are necessary for building healthy churches, they are nine practices which many churches today overlook and that need to be emphasized once again.

This is a very helpful collection of videos that address and answer a wide variety of question that Christians might have by solid Bible scholars and pastors. Videos range on subjects including music, Christian living, Biblical womanhood, evangelism, prayer, how the prosperity Gospel is hurting the church, how to do Gospel-centered ministry, different views on the end times, the Antichrist, the Ten Commandments, and all aspects of the Gospel.

Ligonier Ministries exists to proclaim, teach, and defend the holiness of God in all its fullness to as many people as possible. To that end, Ligonier’s outreach today is manifold and worldwide. Having been founded by Dr. R.C. Sproul in 1971, Ligonier’s teaching fellowship consists of theologians, pastors, and scholars who teach through Renewing Your Mind broadcasts, the Reformation Study Bible, Tabletalk magazine, books through the Reformation Trust Publishing division, and hundreds of teaching series.

Truth For Life is the teaching ministry of Allistaire begg with the mission  to teach the Bible with clarity and relevance so that:

Unbelievers will be converted

Believers will be established

Local churches will be strengthened

The Gospel Alliance of Maine exists to create a thriving network of Churches, dedicated to reaching all of Maine with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In order to accomplish this, the Alliance employs four streams of action: pulpit supply, training, media, and conferences. We align ourselves with the statement of faith from The Gospel Coalition.

You were made to know glory — God’s glory. And the deepest longings of the human heart can be fully satisfied by pursuing that glory. In fact, God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.

We call this truth Christian Hedonism. And declaring it to the world is why we exist.

These are very good short videos that give a synopsis of each book of the bible in 6-8 minutes. Very helpful in getting the geography and theology of a book of the Bible when doing your devotions, preparing to teach or just for fun!
